Kerrie and Jon’s wedding was the first wedding in 2014 so I was very excited to get back into the flow after a relaxing break for the Christmas period.

It was two years ago I met Kerrie and Jon after covering Kerrie’s sisters wedding. Kerrie’s mum pre-booked me in advance to cover her daughters wedding without even knowing the official wedding date. I’m guessing my pictures went down a storm.

I arrived at the family home where I first covered the sisters wedding over a year ago. it’s a strange feeling walking into a house knowing where everything is right down to where the wedding dress will be hanging, where the shoes are, and also where the toilet is. I was welcomed with a nice cup of tea and some laughter whilst reminiscing over me sending the brides mum an email containing a predictive text error. I won’t go into, but you get my drift.

After the hair and makeup was finished I made my way over to Easthampstead Park. As I pulled up the groom also just arrived at the venue, so there was plenty of time for me to have a walk around the grounds. The sun was blazing with beautiful blue skies and rich colour. I could visualise some amazing outdoor shots, not forgetting we’re in January.

The ceremony itself was perfect with emotions flying high and a starry eyed bride and groom. After the ceremony it was a change of plan because of the gorgeous weather we decided to head outside to take some group shots and some portraits. After the group shots we had a quick wander round getting some beautiful portraits on the staircase and around the grounds before heading in to the evening reception.

The evening reception was amazing. Beautiful decor, choir singing and even a disco ready for some midnight dancing. It was such a shame tonight come to an end with everyone having such a good time. I’m sure the night won’t end there for a couple so in love.

There’s nothing better than being a photographer for the family covering both the daughter’s weddings.
