Emily and Robin Wedding
I was up with the birds for the journey to the brides mothers home in Epsom, where Emily and the rest of her bridal party were getting ready for the big day ahead. I was warmly welcomed with a cup of coffee from Debby the brides mother, whilst I made a start on capturing those all important prep shots. The mood of the party was very calm and relaxed, with one of the bridesmaids hand-making the bridal bouquets as the bride was sat for hair and makeup. The venue for today's ceremony was Gorse Hill Hotel, in Woking, Surrey. I arrived alittle ahead of time to allow myself to catch up with Robin and his best man before the ceremony. They too were very calm and relaxed, casually drinking their beers whilst awaiting the arrival of the bride. The ceremony was followed by a drinks & canapés reception along with photos in the stunning hotel grounds. We were lucky to be able to capture most of the photos with the sun shinning in between the rain showers. The guests were seated to a BBQ wedding breakfast that was followed by the famous wedding speeches where the wedding party all took part in a cash bet on how long the best mans speech will last !!! The tradition of this is usually based on one table with the winner usually taking all, but on this occasion all the guests decided to take part. Due too this sudden twist of tradition it was announced that the winner will split the takings 50/50 with the other half being donated to Multiple Sclerosis which is a condition close to the hearts of both family's due to Emily's father being diagnosed with the condition. The event took another surprise twist as the best mans speech came to an end and the winner was announced, they chose to donate all their winnings to the charity. As the evening guests started to arrive, the disco kicked off for all to let their hair down and see them through to the early hours. I'm hoping the guests who chose to stay over at the hotel managed to face their breakfast the next morning, as I heard the breakfast was suppose to be amazing and the ideal hangover cure.
