Delia and David’s Christmas Wedding took place at the stunning location Mill House Swallowfield. Mill House is located on the Basingstoke Road overlooking the countryside. It was a late starting ceremony so with the venue local to me being only 5 minutes down the road I treated myself to a well deserved coffee in bed. A luxury thats very rare for me on a start to the day.
With the car packed with all the camera equipment I made my way down to the venue. Arriving at around one o”clock gave me two hours of bride preparations before the ceremony. With the ceremony set to start at three o’clock and being Winter time was making this a challenging day with the nights drawing in.
Upon arrival, with camera in hand, I started to snap away at the front of the venue. Covering all the detail shots with the added benefit of the Christmas decorations out. The organiser showed me up to the bridal room and boy was things happening. The bubbly was flowing and the mince pies were out. It already felt like a Christmas wedding at Mill House Swallowfield.
With Delia and the girls just having the finishing touches done to their hair from one of Delia’s’s good friends who just happened to be a hair stylist. I started on the dress and detail shots keeping a close eye on the girls mini party.
With all the bride shots completed I made my way down to the ceremony room at Mill House Swallowfield as the whole celebrations were taking place under the one roof. The groom was entertaining all the guests with a joke or two, but not for to long as Delia was soon being escorted down the red carpet by her father.
With a couple of tears in their eyes, and one or two vows later they were husband and wife. With the lights dimmed and the cameras all flashing away it was time to get the evening started. The meal was amazing and myself also being spoiled to a three course sitting. The dessert was a little bit rich for my tastings but non the less a master piece.
After the meal everyone enjoyed coffee before the cutting of the outstanding cake. Only the images can describe the cake!. With the cake cut the newly weds hit the dance floor, spinning each other around with a sneaky kiss or two before all the guests joined in “that’s the dancing”.
What a night and a perfect end to a working year. So thanks for having me at your wedding Delia and David, and I wish you both all the happiness.
