If it’s stunning photographs that you’re after, you’ll want to get familiar with something photographers refer to as “the golden hour.” In very informal terms, the golden hour is simply the first hour of light after sunrise, and the last hour of light before sunset. Of course, when exactly this occurs will depend on where you live and will vary with the seasons.
Golden Hour Twilight by the Thames
We will meet at 6.30 pm at the Caffe Nero, Lancaster Place, 2 Lancaster Place, WC2E 7EA. From Waterloo Bridge we will slowly make our way along the South Bank to Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. The view of our great London city doesn’t get any better than an evening on Waterloo Bridge – The London eye lit up, the Houses of Parliament at sunset, the reflections in River Thames, the night life on the South Bank. Learn how to photograph during the golden hour and into the night and practice your low light photography skills to capture London at night. You will need a digital camera with the ability to set both aperture and shutter speed and a tripod.
