Cantley House located in the heart of Wokingham surrounded by stunning views of the countryside. I had the pleasure of covering Sally and Paul’s wedding photography there this summer. Looking back over the years I’ve had the pleasure of covering a couple at this venue, and every time it feels so homely and inviting.
Sally and Paul’s wedding was no exception, and I was already getting excited as I drove down Cantley House drive. A quick introduction to the organiser for the day, then I was off around the grounds covering exterior shots. At midday, I made my way to Sally’s room (the bride to be) to start photographing the bride preparations.
The girls were in full swing of getting ready with the hair and makeup just on the tail end of being finished, just how I like to start the bride preps with the girls looking amazing. The room was small but full of natural light, perfect for the makeup artist. The bubbly was flowing, and the chocolate biscuits were almost polished off, so that must mean its time to slip into the dresses.
I must say all the girls looked stunning in there bridesmaid dresses and Sally was beautiful in her wedding dress. After all the selfies and Instagram photos, we all got together for some portraits in the room. After the finishing touches were complete, I headed to the ceremony room to capture the guests and groom gathering.
Cantley House Ceremony
The music started, and the groom took a glance over his shoulder as Sally made her way down the aisle to Paul. Just looking at the both of them you knew they were in love with each other. With them both gazing at each other like silly kids in love and beaming smiles, you just knew this was going to be a special day.
The couple had a harpist playing throughout the ceremony, and he was pretty amazing if I say so myself as he entertained the wedding guest.
After the ceremony, we headed outside to gorges British summers day, blue sky as far as the eye could see. With everyone having their drinks and congratulating the couple me and the bridesmaids came up with a plan for the group shots. We managed to cover all the group shots in record time, keeping everyone happy as it was getting hot in the midday sun.
Time to cover the couples portraits and id already planned the locations. It didn’t take long before joining back with the guests and heading for the wedding breakfast.
I joined back with the wedding party after there food to cover the speeches, short and sweet just how I like them. With a quick turnaround of the room, we were soon on the dance floor for the couples first dance as newlyweds. The crowd joined in on the dance floor halfway through the first dance and the evening party had officially started.
The night had come to an end for me as I captured the last couple of shots, the evening guests enjoying themselves and propping up the bar.
Big thank you to everyone for all their hospitality on the day and making me feel like one of the guest. I wish you all the happiness for years to come.
