Virginia Waters is a stunning place located in the heart of Surry. Virginia Waters has everything to offer a photographer from waterfalls to towering trees in a secluded forest. Sian and Ben decided to have their engagement photos at Virginia Waters, definitely picked the right day and location.
Engagement or pre-wedding photography as its more commonly known in the UK genuinely takes around an hour of your time. We arranged to meet up at eleven o’clock before midday sun. It’s better to try and avoid the heat of the midday sun for portraits, also looking for defused light.
I had a couple of places in mind to start the photos off with the couple. The first location meant us trecking deep into the woodland to fined dappled light from the trees.
Virginia Waters Pre-wedding shoot
The sun was beaming down through the trees and creating beautiful pools of light. The couple was having a blast, and the romance filled the air around them. We soon headed off to the water’s edge to capture the colours from the background.
Soon after the second location, we took a stroll to the top end of the woodland. The trees were towering above us and creating a tunnel of trees that needed capturing.
I’m always on the lookout of pinecones; I use them for my USB boxes. Placing small objects in the box personalises each USB box for my customers. Luckily there was a handbag on call to carry them around until we finished the pre-wedding shoot (thanks to Sian).
Walking through the woods, we found our last location to complete the couples photos. Old tree had fallen creating the perfect bench. The colours coming from all the trees and branches around the couple was magical. You can see all the browns, greens and yellows flooding in all around.
The pre-wedding shoot ended were we began, with a final picture captured with textures from the wooden wall just as you leave. I had a fantastic morning with Sian and Ben, even more so looking forward to there wedding day.
