Gareth and Sarah Engagement Bracknell Forest
I love covering engagement shoots around Bracknell Forest. With the summer well on the way and clear blue skies all around, The Lookout Center within Bracknell Forest is the perfect location for an engagement shoot. Gareth and Sarah have booked me to cover their wedding photography, and as all communications have been with zoom calls due to lockdowns, it was terrific to spend some quality time together.
I'm a big believer that you have to connect with your clients. Engagement shoots are perfect for getting to know the couple, and I can honestly say we never stopped talking and having a giggle—myself and the couple ora a lover of all things food-related, not to mention GIN.
Being outdoors really fits in with my photography style as I love the browns, yellows and greens that come through in the final image. I also love that unstaged approach as we walk and talk but still capturing the moment on our travels.
When the couple arrived, they looked so relaxed that even though Sarah has a wardrobe moment and couldn't decide what to wear, I think she was spot on with her choice for the day and looked amazing. But, of course, we men are different as a shirt and some shorts will do nicely.
Off we trotted around the woods, and anyone looking at us would think we are playing cowboys and Indians as we keep popping up in the woodlands with our heads held high.
With the end in sight and our plans from both sides made for the afternoon, and yes, it entailed GIN or a glass of wine in the sun, we finally ended up at the beginning where we started. The couple headed off excited and full of beans looking forward to their wedding day where we would see each other again.
Having an engagement shoot sets the mood for the wedding day as the couple will always feel more relaxed around the photographer and not just a person that's come to take photos.
I want to say cheers to both of you as I write this blog post with a lovely IPA beer in my hand, raising a glass to you both.
