Upon my arrival at St Andrews Sonning Church in Reading, all was quiet as we were the first to arrive. Looking at the church I already knew it was going to be a challenging start to the wedding. My instructions were laid out not to use flash, and to stand in a certain location throughout the ceremony. To top this off the Sonning church was mainly lit by candlelight. It wasn’t long until Kevin and his best man came wondering along the church yard from the pub next door. They were both shortly followed by the guests who had all arrived by coach. The guests were soon seated inside the church as Steph and her bridal party arrived. The ceremony soon got underway, and right on time.
Wedding at Sonning Church
During the ceremony the heavens opened. This unfortunately meant we were unable to use the church gardens for family group photos. The rain wasn’t going to dampen the happy occasion. We worked our magic and managed to get all the group photos taken inside the Sonning church. It was soon time for the guests to re board the coach for departure to the next venue. With the guests all back on the coach and on their way, there was a short break in the rain so we managed to grab a few quick snaps of the happy couple outside the church before they too made their departure to The Crown at Playhatch, Reading.
The guests were all welcomed upon arrival with a drinks reception before being seated in The Banquet Hall to a lavish champagne wedding breakfast.
The evening celebrations were held at Reading Rugby Club, in Sonning where the children had a bouncy castle and a quiet play corner, whilst the bigger children were kept entertained by a live band and a Hog Roast.Wedding Gallery
