            Gemma Tom Wedding Trunkwell House

Gemma and Tom’s wedding took place at the stunning Trunkwell House located in Reading Berkshire. This is a venue I’ve covered many weddings at over the years. It only seems like a couple of months ago Gemma and Tom were sitting in my living room. This was actually over a year ago. Time really does fly by. It was the day of the wedding and the weather was looking a bit hit and miss. The car was loaded and I made my journey to Trunkwell House to get the wedding photography started.

The girls were in full swing getting ready with the prosecco flowing nicely. With myself getting started on the detail shots and covering the bridal preparations the morning soon past. It was time for Gemma to slip into her wedding dress. Whilst this was happening I slipped off to capture some of Tom getting ready. In Toms room, the rum was flowing as a Royal Marine tradition. Not too much though as we needed Tom to enjoy the moments ahead.

Gemma was ready and the girls called me back into the room to capture the finishing shots. It was then on to the ceremony. Everyone was ready and the bride looked stunning walking in to see Tom all dressed in his uniform. The ceremony was amazing with one of the bridesmaids doing a reading. The stunning grounds of Trunkwell House making a lovely backdrop.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the front of the House to cover the group shots. With the help of the best man twenty minutes later all the group shots were covered. I gave the couple plenty of time to mingle and have a drink before starting their portraits. As I had pre-picked the locations for the portraits beforehand all were over in a jiffy. With the couple heading back to the guests and the mingling shots covered time was approaching for food and speeches.

The speeches were so funny, with the father of the bride taking on a roll of a stand-up comedian. Presents were handed out and everyone having their turn at the speeches. The smell of the food was amazing and everyone was ready to eat. The afternoon was coming to an end with the evening fastly approaching. The cake cutting and the first dance was next kicking off the evening celebrations and getting the party started.

One last thing to cover was the throwing of the bride’s bouquet. This tradition isn’t something that happens much these days at weddings. But when it does I’m a sucker for staying to capture the moment. All the girls were jumping for joy. Each one excited to be the one wanting to make the catch. That’s my time here finished and the cameras packed away. What an amazing time I’ve had covering this wedding at Trunkwell House.

Big thanks to everyone. It was my pleasure talking to you all on the day.
