Elliot and Phoebe's wedding Reading Town Hall

Elliot and Phoebe's wedding had a little twist to it. I usually get booked to cover destination weddings in the sun, but as the couple, both live overseas, they decided to come home to Reading for their wedding day. It was a bit of a shock for them to come back to the UK after living abroad for so long and Phoebe coming back to her home in Reading.

So in some respect, I'm still a destination wedding photographer but the other way round, with the couple coming to me on a flight. The couple was a joy to work with, and all the family and friends made me feel welcome. By the end of the evening, we were all exchanging Instagrams to be friends for life.

I'm getting ahead of myself. The ceremony was perfect, with Phoebe's friend saying the all-important words to join the couple together. The weather stayed dry, and we all managed to cover the group shots and smaller family shots in the Forbury Gardens before heading to the hotel for the evening celebrations.

After the wedding breakfast, the evening kicked off with the cake cutting and first dance, albeit I think the party started long ago at the table I had the pleasure to be placed. With the first dance over and the guests well away on the dancefloor, it was time for me to say my goodbyes. Six hours of photography goes a long way on your wedding day. Congratulations.
